Trish is my graduate collection created in collaboration with fashion student Kristen Meaclem.

Trish is the collaborative efforts of textile designer Olivia Balle and fashion designer Kristen Meaclem. Trish exists as a resolution to our research into maximalism and a ‘more is more’ aesthetic conflicting with sustainable fashion’s stereotypical ‘less is more’ attitude. As a result of unique textile development and pattern cutting we were able to create Trish from 100% post consumer waste. Trish boldly emphasizes the sheer abundance of excess stuff that exists, utilizing unconventional materials like chip bags and soft drink cans combined with fabric salvaged from uni rubbish bins. Using carnivalesque techniques to play with the expected and unexpected, weird and wonderful Trish serves to prove that you can create beautiful and unique clothing from waste.
